Grains of Salt: Memorial Day Weekend!

so happy to be home.

so happy to be home.

We flew to South Carolina for Memorial Day weekend to hammer out wedding plans - four months out and the whole thing is starting to feel very real. Catering, logistics, flowers... Friday we dedicated the day to knocking out planning so the rest of the weekend we could take a breath and relax. Below, some snaps from our trip! I hope you enjoyed some good food, family + friends, and were able to recharge a bit.

As we were driving back into the city last night, it hit me how lucky I feel to experience some stillness every now and then. It's so odd, the small things that feel like luxuries when you're living in a big city. Laundry in the home, fresh vegetables picked from the garden, and most of all quiet.

Traveling to Olar a few times a year offers a gorgeous retreat from the noise and hustle of the day to day in New York. Normally, I take my coffee with a side of morning commute of hundreds at Penn Station, so the quiet and beauty of the front porch at Ian's dad's house doesn't lose it's luster. It feels incredible to wake up, know there's nothing on the schedule, and spend a few quiet hours just enjoying the view.
